About Our Building: The Grandville Banquet Center is housed on the second floor of the former Alloytek building, across Wilson Avenue from the Grandville Post Office. Although there is no official documents on the history of this building, rumor has it this was originally built in the late 1930's, early 1940's to manufacture ammunition for the US Government for use during World War II. The building is now owned by a local investment company. Due to the age and grandeur of our physical space, we think of ourselves as the big old building of downtown Grandville. We pride ourselves in the high ceilings, exposed rafters and creative lighting that give our facility loads of character. Mixing the old with new, we can also boast about new carpeting, surround sound acoustics, handicap restrooms, state-of-the-art kitchen, and let's not forget our top notch service. About Our Staff: The owner / general manager and executive chef, Art Wilson, was born and raised in northern Michigan. Chef Art received most of his experience as an apprentice with several restaurants & hotels throughout Michigan; serving under some highly decorated European Chef's. Chef Art has taken charge as Executive Chef at highly acclaimed hotels and resorts, such as:
Chef Art has received many fine dining awards and is best known at the Conference Center, for his award winning "Chicken Vin Blanc," a succulent chicken breast with mushroom, white wine, and artichoke cream sauce. Chef Art joined the Grandville Banquet Center staff in 2000, to help some friends with their business. He then took ownership in 2002 and has been involved in all phases of the properties operation. Feel free to come in & visit, Chef Art is very accommodating and would love to have the opportunity to help you with any of your event needs. Our Event Sales Coordinator is Gayle Clouse. With a background in business and education, and a passion for the hospitality sector, her efforts and warm personality have been met with a positive reaction to the diverse needs of event sales. With an eye for perfection, she has been a cornerstone for our guest's needs, and is ready to serve you with guided tours of the facility and answers to all your event planning questions. Our experienced team, including chefs, wait staff, bartenders, DJ's and security personnel, complete the picture of our hospitality staff. Each and all are eager to serve you.
